Thanks A Lot Thaqif :D

Fish.

The most popular student in school. Reading the title alone might give you an impression of utter shallow-ness to it. I, myself had that as a first impression when I received this assignment. But then, I had a brainstorm session. Being popular doesn't necessarily mean you are shallow or blunt in any way but recognized for your positive attributes. The bad impression part is brought by the media and also due to self-righteousness. But of course, everybody has their own opinion.

Being in the 'hot seat' in school in school is probably every students desire. It's all part of the secondary school experience. To have everyone look at you and greet you, just gives one a sense of satisfaction.

But here I am, to share my personal encounter with the most popular student in school. His name is Eow Jia-Liang. Most commonly referred to as Fish. I spent the whole of my form 4 life in the same classroom as him. Confident fellow, he is. Very outspoken. He is a prefect, a rather tall one, I might add. One peculiar fact about him though, is he has really small feet. Relative to his height. He is a size 7 whereas his other friends with the similar body mass index would wear a size 10 or so.

Fish, who's the 'Pengerusi' of Scouts, has this fascination of telling lame jokes. Among students, He is recognized for that and also his ability to 'woo' girls. Smooth talker with a sense of humor. What a deadly combination. Ladies, look out!

One of the greatest things I admire about him is that he is a very committed and hardworking fellow. Always scoring a mere 100 percent for his additional mathematics paper. And always, so genuinely offering help to others. He helped me with add maths and for that I thank him. Looking at that, I feel really inspired and I tell myself I want to be like that but I sometimes have commitment issues.

Through the eyes of the educators we have in school, he is one of the most admired and referred-to student. If our school gives out Valedictorian awards, he would get it, hands down.

He's one of the greatest people I've had the pleasure to meet and I'm really glad to have him around. Though, I do get jealous of the amount of attention he gets sometimes, I'm only human. But it's well deserved and there's nothing more to it. So with that, I conclude that Eow Jia-Liang is the most popular student in school.

An essay Thaqif wrote for me as a class assignment :) Honestly, I've never had an essay written in my name that I could remember of. I find it real encouraging for me and how big of a role I play in the school now. Looking back at primary, I've really changed a lot but I guess it can be a real testimony one day :) So I thank you, Thaqif for reminding me of what I am now and how I came to be what I am. Remember!! It's only a matter of time before each and every one of us achieves what we sought out to be. Before then, all we have to do is just work hard for it and never give up! You know what I'm saying? :P

One day Thaqif, you'll be something much bigger than you can ever imagine :))
